About
Greetings. I am Josiah Yarbrough, the not-so-old founder
of The Elderly Cartographer & Woodwright.
What I do:
I sell my hand crafted maps, illustrations, concept and
traditional art. I also am for hire. If you are in need of a map,
an illustration, or artwork for your novel, RPG adventure,
decor, I would most gladly oblige. All you have to do
is Contact me!
Why I started:
I am a great lover of maps and wood (living or dead). When I was young, I would analyze local maps, department store kiosk maps, and Where's Waldo scenes. And for as long as I can remember, I drew cut-away scenes of vikings storing their loot in sea caves, and miners digging up troves of gold, silver, and other materials.
Then I stumbled upon something else; my enthusiasm for wood. Just for fun, I took a garden stake and turned it into a short dueling sword. Then it occurred to me that I could make most anything. From there I made Axes, Anakin Skywalker's Japor Snippet necklaces, dice, swords, shields, and plenty of other things. See my stores of tangible goods: The Elderly Woodwright Shop
